Bloom Radar: A Guide to Data Breach Monitoring

Manage Monitored Accounts

Bloom monitors data breaches and notifies you if any of your data might be compromised as new breaches occur. Radar scans scans sites and databases from the dark web for stolen or leaked information, checking your email addresses against nine billion compromised accounts from thousands of breaches and leaks.

Today's currently available “dark web monitoring” services are often built by the very same companies that collect and sell your data for profit, or charge you for additional services after they have exposed your information. Unlike many of these companies, data security and privacy are at the heart of Bloom’s mission. Radar is 100% free and will only scan for email addresses if you have opted-in. You can un-enroll from Radar at anytime.

You can add additional email addresses for Radar to monitor for at anytime from the Radar dashboard. When you add a new email address to Radar, you will get alerts when that email address is found in new data breaches. Follow the steps below to manage your emails.

  1. Open the Bloom mobile app
  2. Tap on the Radar icon in the bottom right hand of the screen
  3. Tap Manage Emails
  4. From here, you can easily add or remove emails from Radar

Take Action to Protect Your Identity

Personal information stolen or leaked in a data breach can be used by fraudsters for all kinds of nefarious purposes. Compromised passwords can be used to access and drain your bank accounts. Your Social Security Number can be used to fraudulently apply for credit cards or loans in your name. The list goes on and on. In the face of so many threats, what can you do?

Knowing what the risks are and taking steps to reduce these risks is the key to protecting your data and guarding against identity theft. Radar makes this easier than ever. With Radar, you get personalized actions for each data breach you've been affected by, along with step-by-step instructions on how to complete them, so that you can act quickly to protect your identity.

Radar recommends actions based on the information that was exposed in a breach and the risks it poses. You can see the total number of hacks you've been affected by and how many you've resolved from the Radar dashboard. Complete actions for each breach to mark them as resolved. Follow the steps below to get started.

  1. Open the Bloom mobile app
  2. Tap View next to an unresolved hack
  3. Tap on the first action
  4. Follow the steps to complete the action
  5. Tap Mark as Complete
